Any newly created organization needs financial, human, and material resources in order to carry out its activities efficiently and swiftly.

In this case, the Union of Basque Sport Federations already holds offices equipped with suitable furniture and technical material. This first year of official operation will be intense and difficult. Since it is a newly created organization there is nothing written nor clear references to follow, at least within the Basque Country. Because of this, this year we will have to conceive of and create activities appropriate to the goals of the organization.

In principle we think it is very important to invest in publicity and image, with the objective of becoming a point of reference for the Basque sport organization field, and focused on several areas of action. These could be the Basque teams, the different services for all of the Basque federations, the web page, sport-cultural events that will attract a large population, investments, education, conferences, travel, attire, etc.

Publicity and image are two features that are important to take into account in the face of promoting and bringing to light the work projects of the UFDV. Therefore, we are considering creating an information bulletin to keep one of our closest clients up to date, the Basque sport federations.

In addition, our web site will have at its disposal, among other things, relevant information, current affairs, history, news, services, sponsors, members, legislation, objectives, etc.

In the area of self financing, the UFDV will try by all means possible to generate its own funds from various sources, such as agreements with sponsors, brand names, and companies, and through an appropriate merchandising campaign that will include the creation of its own brand of sport clothing and equipment, in order for the economic dependence of the organization to become less over time. The organization must tend toward total or close as possible self financing.

At the same time, the UFDV will try to acquire new members whose voice will be able to contribute interesting ideas and projects related to the character of the organization. These types of members will always be of value, from the practical point of view as well as the functional. In this way we will generate a greater thematic richness and a greater efficiency in management.

Within the objectives that the UFDV has set out are the development and expansion of the functions granted to it by the Basque Law for sport 14/98. Among other thing it will eliminate useless bureaucracies; join efforts to generate important added value for the Basque federations integrated in the union, as well as its directors, its athletes, and its coaches; and create general services for the Basque federations (translation, press, computing, Basque language instruction, shopping site, Basque sport friendly society, courses, lectures, conferences, etc.).

For all of this the Union counts on the support and enormous collaboration of all of the member Basque sport federations.
