PRELIMINARY AGREEMENT WITH EUDEL
The UFDV is considering reaching an agreement with The Association of Basque Municipalities Eudel. The objective is to create a mutually beneficial arrangement between both institutions. Accordingly, the town councils will be able to receive help in municipal sport management, on the organization of events, and also on web promotional materials.
On the other hand, the agreement will facilitate the preparation of our athletes, since municipal sport facilities would be urged to prioritize these activities. In this way, an expansion of the training hours for athletes, or greater access to the use of services such as massage or video rooms, for example, will bring undeniable benefits for the federations enrolled with the UFDV.
PRESENCE OF THE UFDV ON COMMITTEES AND SPORT FORUMS
The UFDV as well as the member federations should have representation on the various sport committees and forums. In that way, the decisions or policies that take place in the Antiviolence, Doping, Olympic Promotion, and University Sport Committees, will always be able to be studied first hand by the Basque federations.
It is also important to be represented on the Basque Sport Council, in order to defend the interests of the federations and their athletes.
APPROPRIATE DRESS
Another area to stress is that related to clothing, which involves the subjects of publicity and image, and that will promote merchandising as a method of self financing. For this it is necessary to create a unique and exclusive sport brand, something that the Athletic Bilbao football club has recently done.
In addition the various federations would have the opportunity to request orders with their own logos.
MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR DIRECTORS
The training of the directors of the federations enrolled in the Union is crucial. Thus, the UFDV is planning to carry out a trimester series of practical lectures, which will contribute to an appropriate training in various subjects.
BASQUE LANGUAGE PREPARATION FOR FEDERATION PERSONNEL
The UFDV is contemplating the possibility of establishing a collaborative agreement with HABE, which would benefit personnel hired by the federations. These should collect information on the level of Basque language proficiency of its staff in order to outline their actual needs in this area.
ANALYSIS OF A BASQUE MUTUAL SOCIETY
In principal it will have three phases:
1. Choosing the necessary information, and the collection and analysis of
data (license numbers necessary to determine the list of services, current
premiums, number of accidents and their costs, a survey to learn what is expected
from a mutual society).
2. Actuarial study: comparison of the information on accidents in order to
establish the price of the premiums of the plan.
3. Investigation and evaluation of alternatives: analysis of the service agreement,
market study, selection of the legal arrangement, organization, and structure.
